# Add comments to N/A Options in a checklist

## Overview: comments on N/A options

The **Comment on NA** setting in Template Center lets you require a comment whenever a line item is marked **N/A (Not Applicable)**, which is used when commissioning tests need a written reason for skipped items.

* Your role must allow access to checklist templates in Template Center.
* You can find the menu at Template Center - open a template - line item settings.
* This changes how N/A responses are collected on checklists created from the template, and what appears in exported PDFs.

|| All users with access to checklist templates can enable **Comment on NA**.
