# Create a new project in CxPlanner

## Overview: create a new project

Creating a project from **Projects** opens a dedicated workspace for checklists, planning, and documentation, which is used when onboarding a new job, building, or handover.

You can also clone an existing project to reuse its structure, or choose from several project types depending on the nature of the job.
* Your role must be **Company Admin** or company **Manager**.
* You can find the menu at **Projects** - **Create project**.
* This adds a new project to your project list with its own users, modules, and data.

|| Only users with the **Company Admin** or **Manager** role can create new projects.

## How to create a new project

1. Navigate to **Projects** in the left-hand sidebar.
2. Click **Create project** at the top.
3. Fill in the required project details (name, date, language, and related fields).
4. Select the modules and plugins you want to activate for the project.
5. Save to create the project.

## Results: new project

* The project appears in the project list
* Selected modules and plugins are active for that project
* Each project has its own user permissions and data

## Troubleshooting: create a new project

| Problem | Cause | Solution |
| ---- |
| Cannot see Create project or Add Project | Company role cannot create projects | Ask a **Company Admin** to create the project or raise your company role |
| Project does not appear in the list | Page not refreshed, or a filter is hiding it | Refresh the page and clear project list filters |
