# Create a report template

## Overview: report template

Report templates in **Template Center** let you define a standard report format once and reuse it across projects, which is used when you need consistent quality, commissioning, or checklist reporting.

Templates must be imported into a project before use. Updates to a company template do not change reports already generated from an earlier import.

* Your role must be company **Admin** or **Manager**.
* You can find the menu at **Template Center** - **Report Template** - **Add new report**.
* This creates a company-level template available for import into projects.

|| Only users with the company role **Admin** or **Manager** can create and manage report templates in Template Center.

## How to create a report template

1. Open **Template Center** from the home screen.
2. Select **Report Template**.
3. Click **Add new report**.
4. Add the sections, placeholders, and formatting you need.
5. Save the template.

| Template not showing in a project | Template not imported yet | Open project settings and import the report template |
| Template changes not visible in a project | Project still uses an older imported copy | Re-import the updated template into the project |
