# Create a standard project template for your company

## Overview: standard project template

A project set to **Template** status can be selected as the company **Standard project**, so new projects inherit folders, asset types, checklist content, and settings, which is used when your company wants a consistent default setup for every new project.

For changing project status details, see the project status help article.

* Your role must be company **Admin**.
* You can find the menus at **Project Settings** - **Project Data** (set status to Template), and profile icon - **Company profile** - **Standard project**.
* This changes the default configuration applied when new projects are created.

|| Only company platform **Admin** users can set the standard project.

||| A project set to **Template** status still counts toward your company license limit.
