# Create "Custom Fields" for punch list items, such as Priority

## Overview: custom fields for punch list items

Custom fields add project-specific data to tasks, for example priority, department, or classification, which is used when standard task fields are not enough.

For a saved priority list during project setup, see Create your own priority list.

* Your role must be project **Admin**.
* You can find the menu at **Project settings** - **Task options** - **Custom fields**.
* This adds fields on all tasks in the project for details, filters, and exports.

|| Only users with the project **Admin** role can enable and manage custom fields.

|| Custom fields are available only if the Custom Fields plugin is enabled for your company. Contact CxPlanner support to activate it.

## How to enable custom fields

1. Go to **Project settings**.
2. Select **Task options**.
3. Scroll to the **Custom fields** section.
4. Enable the custom fields you want to use.
