# Force all users to log out

## Overview: force all users to log out

The force logout control in **Company Profile** - **Security** immediately ends active sessions for all users in your company, which is used when you suspect compromised accounts or need everyone to sign in again after a security incident.

For session length limits, see [Setting login duration for your company](https://help.cxplanner.com/en-us/article/setting-login-duration-for-your-company-rnt7vw/).

* Your role must be **Company Admin**.
* You can find the menu at Profile icon - **Company profile** - **Security**.
* This logs all company users out immediately. They must sign in again to continue.

||| This action ends active sessions for everyone in the company at once. Confirm before you run it.

## How to force all users to log out

1. Click your **profile icon** in the top right corner.
2. Select **Company profile**.
3. Go to the **Security** tab.
4. Find the option to log out all users and confirm the action.

## Results: after forcing logout

* All users are logged out immediately
* Users must log in again to access CxPlanner
* Project data is not deleted or changed by this action

## Troubleshooting: force all users to log out

| Problem | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Cannot find the logout-all option | You are not in Company profile Security, or your role is not Company Admin | Open **Company profile** - **Security**, or ask another **Company Admin** to run the action |
| Users can still work after the action | Browser tabs kept an old page open without refreshing | Ask users to refresh or reopen CxPlanner and sign in again |
| Need a shorter session instead of a one-time logout | Forced logout is a one-time action | Set a shorter login duration under **Security**, then force logout so the new limit applies on next sign-in |
