# FPT with controls, electrical and mechanical checklist combined

## Overview: combined FPT checklists

Multi-checklist configuration on an asset type lets you attach separate contractor checklists under one test section, which is used when electrical, mechanical, and controls teams test the same equipment in parallel while the project still tracks combined progress.

For completing an individual checklist, see [Find and perform checklists on desktop and mobile](https://help.cxplanner.com/en-us/article/find-and-perform-checklists-desktop-mobile-view-ylw43f/).

* Your role must be **Manager** or higher.
* You can find the menu at Asset module - **Asset Types**, then **Global test view** for assignments.
* This changes checklist setup for all assets of that type, including existing assets.

|| Configuration is set at the asset type level and applies to all assets of that type.

### Configure checklist types on the asset type

1. Open **Assets** from the left sidebar.
2. Click **Asset Types** and open the type, for example Chiller.
3. Select the test section, for example **Functional Performance Test**.
4. Click **Add checklist** and enter a name, for example **Electrical**.
5. Select the template and click **Attach**.
6. Repeat for **Mechanical** and **Controls**.

### Assign checklists to responsible parties

1. Open **Global test view**.
2. Locate the asset and test section.
3. Click the assignment field next to a checklist and select a user or **user group**.
4. Repeat for the remaining checklists.

### Optional: group the view by responsible party

1. Right-click a user group in the overview.
2. Select **Add to grouping**.
3. Switch between by-asset and by-responsible-party views as needed.

## Results: combined progress display

| State | Asset Overview | Global test view |
|---|---|---|
| No checklists started | All pending | 0% per checklist |
| One checklist approved | 1 approved, others pending | Green fill and 100% on that row |
| All checklists approved | Fully green | 100% across all rows |

To enforce a sequence, for example Electrical before Mechanical, set dependencies between checklists. See [Configure asset checklist settings](https://help.cxplanner.com/en-us/article/configure-asset-checklist-settings-17w1gs3/).

## Troubleshooting: combined FPT checklists

| Problem | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Checklists do not appear under the asset | Asset type has no attached checklist types | Open **Asset Types** and attach the templates under the correct test section |
| Contractor sees every checklist | Checklist is not assigned to a user or user group | Assign each checklist in **Global test view** |
| Progress does not update on the asset card | Checklist was saved but not approved | Complete approval and sign-off, not only save |
| Grouping option is missing on right-click | Project role is below Manager | Ask a project **Admin** to raise the role to **Manager** |
