# Get a unified timeline across multiple projects with Global Gantt

## Overview: Global Gantt

Global Gantt groups multiple projects into one consolidated Gantt view, which is used when you need to spot overlaps, coordinate resources, and plan work across projects without switching contexts.

Global Gantt is read-only for editing tasks; open a task inside its project to change it.

Your company role must be **Manager** or higher, and your project role must be **Viewer** or higher on the projects you include.
* You can find the menu at home page - **Global Gantt**.
* This changes your timeline overview only. It does not change underlying project data.

|| Only users with the company role **Manager** or higher and the project role **Viewer** or higher can access the Global Gantt.

Only projects you have access to can be added to the view.

## How to use Global Gantt

1. From the home page, navigate to **Global Gantt**.
2. Use the slider to **add projects** that you want in the timeline.
3. Use filters or grouping options to organise the timeline by project, phase, or date range.
4. Review the combined timeline for overlapping tasks or scheduling conflicts.

## Results: Global Gantt display

* Each task appears based on its planned start and end dates
* Tasks retain their original project context and permissions
* Colour-coding or labels indicate which project a task belongs to

## Troubleshooting: Global Gantt

| Problem | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| A project does not appear | You do not have access to that project | Ask a project **Admin** to add you to the project, then add it in Global Gantt |
| Tasks cannot be edited | Global Gantt is read-only | Open the task inside its original project schedule |
| Missing tasks in timeline | Start or end date not defined on the task | Add start and end dates to the task in the project schedule |
| Timeline looks crowded | Too many projects selected | Use filters or remove projects from the Global Gantt selection |
