# Set up a standard commissioning project (PFC + FPT)

## Overview: PFC and FPT project setup

The asset-based project setup in CxPlanner lets you create a project, define checklist phases such as Pre-functional (PFC) and Functional Performance Test (FPT), add assets, and assign checklist templates automatically, which is used when starting a standard commissioning project with equipment and test scripts.

* Your role must be **Manager** or higher.
* You can find the menu at **Projects** - **Add Asset-Based Project**.
* This changes assets, checklists, assignments, and schedules in the project.

|| Only users with the company or project role **Manager** or higher can create and configure projects.

Verification phases can be renamed later. Assets and data can be imported later through Excel or PDF. Planned dates create a timeline automatically.

### Create the project
1. Go to **Projects**.
2. Click **Add Asset-Based Project**.
3. Enter a project name.
4. Select a project type.

### Configure checklist phases
1. Define your checklist types.
2. Use examples such as Pre-functional or Functional Performance Test.
3. Continue to the next step.

### Add asset types
1. Add the assets you need (for example Air Handling Units or Exhaust Fans).
2. Enter the quantity for each type.
3. Create the project.

### Assign checklist templates
1. Go to **Types of Assets**.
2. Select an asset type.
3. Add checklist templates to the asset.
4. Repeat for additional checklist types if needed.

### Review assets and tests
1. Open **Asset Overview** to see all assets.
2. Open **System & Test view** to see all checklists.
3. Assign responsible users, groups, or companies.
4. Add dates if scheduling is needed.

## Troubleshooting: PFC and FPT project setup

| Problem | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Checklists are missing | No template assigned to the asset type | Open **Types of Assets**, select the type, and add the checklist templates |
| Users cannot see tests | No assignment added | Assign the user, group, or company in **System & Test view** |
| Timeline is empty | No planned dates added | Add start and end dates on the assigned checklists |
