Create and Replace Custom Fields in Reports

Overview: custom fields in reports

Custom fields in CxPlanner reports let you create placeholders that you can replace with specific text across the entire report in one action, which is used when recurring names, titles, or project data must stay consistent without editing each occurrence by hand.

For building the report structure, see Create and customize project reports.

  • Your role must be Manager or higher.
  • You can find the menu at Reports - report template editing / project report view - Replace template text.
  • This changes all matching placeholders in the project-level report. It does not change the original template.

Only users with the project role Manager or higher can create and update custom fields in reports.

Typical placeholders include Project Manager name, client company, or inspection date.

How to create and replace custom fields

Create a custom field

  1. In your report template, type your placeholder text between two curly braces with spaces inside, for example {{ Project Manager }}.
  2. Repeat for any additional placeholders you want to define.
