Import and export MS Project schedules
Overview: MS Project import and export
MS Project schedule import and export in the Schedules module lets you bring an MS Project plan into CxPlanner or share a CxPlanner schedule back as XML, which is used when construction schedules must stay aligned across tools and stakeholders.
Direct .mpp upload is not supported.
- Your role must be Manager or higher.
- You can find the menu at Schedules - Tools - Upload MS Project (import) or Download - Download MS Project XML (export).
- This changes project schedule tasks and their order.
Only .XML format is supported for both import and export. After import, CxPlanner sorts tasks by start date within groups by default.
How to import an MS Project schedule
- Open your
.mppfile in MS Project. - Save the file as an XML file.
- In CxPlanner, go to the Schedules module.
- Select Tools and Upload MS Project.
- Choose the saved XML file from your computer.
- Confirm the import.
How to export a schedule to MS Project
- In CxPlanner, open the schedule you want to export.
- Click Download.
- Select Download MS Project XML.
- Open the downloaded file in MS Project.
