Save and Use Schedule Baselines

Overview: schedule baselines

A baseline is a snapshot of your schedule at a specific point in time, which is used to lock the current plan so you can track changes, compare progress, or review earlier versions.

A baseline only reflects the schedule as it was when saved. Deleted tasks after a baseline is created are noted during activation.

  • Your role can be any CxPlanner user.
  • You can find the menu at Schedule - Tools or Quick function - baseline.
  • This changes the schedule view for comparison. It does not permanently overwrite the live schedule.

All users can access and view baselines.

How to create and activate a baseline

  1. Build or open your schedule in CxPlanner.
  2. Before making changes, click Tools or use Quick function to create a baseline.
  3. Confirm creation of the baseline.
  4. Make any changes to your schedule as needed.
  5. To compare, activate the baseline. It appears under your current schedule as blue bars.
