Add a floorplan to your project

Overview

Adding a floorplan helps your team visually organize and locate tasks directly within a project. This is especially useful when working on larger construction or commissioning projects where physical locations matter.

When and why to use this

Not sure when to add a floorplan or why it matters? Here’s when it becomes useful:

• When you want to connect tasks or systems to their physical location.
• When teams are working across multiple zones or areas.
• When you need to use visual planning or checklist placement in floor view.
• Floorplans must be in PDF format to upload.

Guide - How to add a floorplan

1. In the left sidebar, click Files.
2. Select the folder named Floorplans.
3. Click the Upload Files button.
4. Choose the PDF floorplans from your computer.

Add the floorplan to the project

When the floor plan has been uploaded, it needs to be added/converted to the project, so the system knows it's a floorplan and not just a "normal" file - this can be done in two ways.

• Method A - Is the quickest and is recommended of you have 1-5 files that needs to be converted
• Method B - Takes a little longer, but if you have multiple files that needs to be converted we recommend this option

Method A - Quick right-click

1. In the Floorplans folder, right-click the uploaded floorplan.
2. Click Add as floorplan.

Method B – Use the Floorplan module

1. In the sidebar, go to Project setting.
2. Click Floorplan & Arrangements.
3. Select Add Floorplan to Project and choose the files you wish to convert.

Behavior and results

Once added:

• The floorplan will appear in the Floorplan module.
• You can now start placing checklists and tasks visually on the plan.
• Renaming the file later won’t affect its link to the project.
