Add custom project tags for better search and organization

Overview

How do I organize and search my projects using tags?

With Project Tags in CxPlanner, you can organize projects using your own identifiers—such as PO numbers, client names, or location codes. These tags are visible on the project list and make it easy to search and filter.

Anyone with access to a project can view and use project tags.

Only users with project role Manager and Admin can edit project tags.

When and why to use this

Use project tags to simplify tracking across many simultaneous projects or clients.

Works great for:

  • Internal project numbers or purchase order references
  • Geographic regions or site names
  • Department or customer categorization
  • Makes project filtering faster using the search bar
  • Tags are visible to all project participants

Steps to add or update project tags

  1. Open your project.
  2. Navigate to Project Settings.
  3. Click Project Data in the left menu.
  4. Scroll to the Tags section.
  5. Click the pencil icon to edit.
  6. Enter one or more tags, separated by commas.
  7. Click Save.

Once saved, the tags appear on the project card and can be used in search.
