How do I add or change a project frontpage picture so the project is easier to recognize?


A project frontpage picture helps users quickly identify the correct project. The image is shown in project frontpage-related views and is also used in relevant PDF outputs.


Only users with the project role Admin can upload, replace, or remove the project frontpage picture.


When and why to use this

Use this feature when you want to make a project more visually recognizable.

  • Use it when multiple projects have similar names or structures.
  • Use it to give the project a clear visual identity on the frontpage.
  • Other users can see the image even if they cannot change it.
  • To replace an image, the current image must first be removed.
  • The image is also used in PDF generation.
  • Maximum file size is 5 MB.
  • Common image formats are supported via the file picker.


How to - step by step

Upload a project frontpage picture

  1. Open the project.
  2. Go to Project settings.
  3. Find the Project picture section.
  4. Click Browse.
  5. Select an image file from your computer.
  6. Wait for the upload to complete and the page to refresh.




Replace or remove an existing project picture

  1. Open Project settings for the project.
  2. Locate the Project picture section and review the current image.
  3. Click Remove to delete the current picture.
  4. To replace it, first remove the existing image.
  5. Then click Browse and select the new image.




Behavior and results

Once a project picture is uploaded, it is linked to the project and displayed in frontpage-related contexts. This helps users quickly recognize the project and ensures the image can be included in PDF outputs.

Important notes

  • Users without the Admin project role can view but not modify the image.
  • If the old image still appears after upload, a manual page refresh may be required.
