Overview: change the project name
Renaming a project in Project Settings updates the display name used across CxPlanner, which is used when naming conventions, corrections, or client references require a new title.
For status, logo, or other project data, see Edit the project settings.
- Your role must be Manager or Admin.
- You can find the menu at Project Settings - Project Data - Project Name.
- This changes the name in the dashboard, project selector, reports, PDFs, emails, and system logs.
CxPlanner does not notify other users when the name changes. Tell your team if they need to know.
How to change the project name
- In the sidebar, click Project Settings.
- Open the Project Data module.
- Find the Project Name field and click the pencil icon next to the current name.
- Enter the new name and press Enter, or click outside the field to save.
Results: renamed project
- The project name updates immediately across CxPlanner
- The new name appears in the dashboard overview, project selector, reports and PDFs, emails, and logs
Troubleshooting: change the project name
Problem | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
Cannot see the edit icon | Project role is below Manager | Ask a project Admin or Manager to rename the project or raise your role |
Changes not saved | Browser or network error | Refresh the page and edit the name again |
Name not updated in PDF | Old PDF still in use | Re-export the PDF after the name change |
