How to Lock a Template (Prevent Editing or Modifying)



Overview



The "Locking the Template" feature allows users to secure a template in its current form by locking it from any future edits or changes. Once locked, the template becomes read-only

Key Highlights:

A locked template cannot be modified.

Locked templates can only be used as-is or deleted (by the owner or an License Admin only)

You must duplicate/clone a locked template to edit it



When to Use Template Locking



You want to preserve a finalized version of a template.
You need to ensure that templates used across teams remain consistent and unaltered.
You want to prevent accidental or unauthorized changes.



What Happens When a Template is Locked

Who Can Lock/Unlock or Delete Templates



Only License Admins can delete a locked template.
Templates cannot be unlocked or edited once locked.
However you are allowed to duplicate the locked templates.

Can I Unlock or Edit a Locked Template?



No, locked templates cannot be unlocked or directly edited.
IF you need to make changes, you’ll need to duplicate the locked template and modify the copy.

How to Lock a Template – Step-by-Step



Go to the Template Center in CxPlanner and choose the relevant template from "Checklists" options


Choose the template you want to lock

On the right side of the template, click the three dots. Select the “Lock Template” option

Confirm your action in the pop-up that appears. After confirming, the template will be locked

Lock icon will indicate that template has been locked
