Import document templates into the Template Center
Overview
How do I import templates into the CX Planner Template Center?
The Template Center lets you upload checklists and documents to use across your projects. You can import Word or PDF files and convert them into reusable commissioning templates.
When and why to use this
Use the Template Center to standardize and streamline your commissioning documentation.
- When you want to upload a pre-existing checklist or form
- To convert a Word or PDF file into an editable commissioning test template
- To import commissioning test templates from CxAlloy or Facility Grid into CxPlanner

How to - step by step
- Go to the Template Center
Open CX Planner and navigate to Template Center.
Select the Commissioning Test section.
- Start the import process
Click on the Import Template button.
Then click Import Files.
- Choose the file type
Select what kind of file you're importing:
- Word checklists
- PDF checklists
- General PDF documents (e.g., SOOs)
- Templates from CxAlloy or Facility Grid
- Upload your file
Choose the correct file type (e.g., Word checklist).
Browse your device and upload the desired file.
- Convert the file
Click Upload and Convert to begin the transformation process.
- Review the generated content
After the system reads your file:
- Check the extracted test topic
- Verify individual tests and structure
- Name the template
- Add a category name
- Ensure the template name is accurate
- Set visibility
Choose who can see the template:
- Only you
- Your entire company
- Edit and organize
Drag to reorder test items.
Remove or update items if needed.
- Finalize the import
Click Import AIResult to complete.
You can now return to the planner and add requirements.
Behavior and results
Once imported, the system automatically parses the content of your file to create:
- A test category (based on the document or file name)
- One or more test topics containing checklist items
You can modify any of the generated content before finalizing the import.
If a file cannot be converted, CX Planner will notify you with an error.
