Manage Gantt Timeline / Schedule

Overview

How do I manage tasks and exports in the Gantt Timeline / Schedule?

The Schedule in CxPlanner allows you to manage and track all project activities in one place. Tasks can contain detailed information, making it easier to monitor progress and collaborate effectively.

Only users with the project role Manager or higher can perform schedule edits.

When and why to use this

Use the schedule to plan, track, and share project activities in a structured way.

  • Plan main tasks and sub-tasks for your project.
  • Add images, files, comments, assigned people, and floor plan locations directly to tasks.
  • Track progress visually or by percentage.
  • Export schedules for reporting or client updates.
  • Apply filters, sort tasks, and view critical paths for advanced project control.

How to - step by step

Create new tasks

Open the Schedule module. Use New task to create a main task, or right-click an existing task and select Create sub-task.

Organize with folders and directories

Drag and drop a task onto another to build a folder structure and keep tasks organized.

Update task progress

Update progress by dragging the arrow on the task bar, or open the task and set the percentage manually.

Use the quick menu

Right-click any task to open the quick menu with available options.

Export the schedule

Click Export in the toolbar. Choose the full schedule or a date range, and optionally add a watermark like DRAFT.

Access advanced features

Use the Tools button to access filters, sorting, critical path, progress scaling, resource overview, and full-screen mode.

Behavior and results

Each task in the schedule can store multiple types of linked content:

  • Images - Upload or take photos directly from the construction site to show progress.
  • Files - Attach documents relevant to the task.
  • Comments - Collaborate with the team directly in the task.
  • Assigned person - Allocate responsibility.
  • Floor plan location - Pin tasks to a specific site area.
