Sandbox - project
Overview
A sandbox project is a safe environment within CxPlanner where you can test features, simulate workflows, or onboard new team members without affecting live data. It's designed to be completely risk-free and ideal for experimenting with settings and processes.
When and why to use this
Want to try out something without risking your live project? Use the sandbox.
- A sandbox project is ideal for:
- Testing new features or processes
- Training and onboarding new team members
- Experimenting with integrations or settings
- It does not count toward your project limit
- Data inside a sandbox project is not backed up — use it for practice only
- You can use real workflows and project tools inside the sandbox
Guide - How to create a sandbox project
- Go to the Home page.
- Click Create new project.
- Fill in the project details as usual.
- Scroll to the bottom of the project creation form.
- Check the box labeled “Sandbox” to mark it as a test project.
- Click Create project to finish setup.
Your sandbox is now ready for training, testing, or experimentation.
Behavior and results
Once a project is marked as a sandbox:
- It is excluded from subscription limits.
- It is flagged as a practice environment.
- System processes work as usual — perfect for realistic testing.
- You can create as many sandbox projects as needed.
- Sandbox data is not included in platform backups.
Troubleshooting
Problem | Cause | Solution |
---|---|---|
Can't find the sandbox checkbox | Permissions issue or UI scroll | Scroll down fully or contact admin |
Data from sandbox appears missing | Sandbox projects aren't backed up | Recreate or test with new data |
Can’t use sandbox for real reporting | Sandbox excluded from official logs | Use a standard project instead |
Quick facts
- Requires: Any user role with permission to create projects
- Location: Projects → Create new project
- Affects: Training, internal testing, does not affect live data or limits
