Sandbox - project
Overview: sandbox project
A sandbox project is a practice environment where you can test features, simulate workflows, or onboard new team members without affecting live data, which is used for training and experiments that must stay outside production projects.
Do not use sandbox data for official reporting or as a backup of real work.
- Your role must allow creating projects.
- You can find the menu at Home or Projects - Create new project - Sandbox checkbox.
- This creates a practice project that does not count toward your project limit and is not included in platform backups.
How to create a sandbox project
- Go to the Home page.
- Click Create new project.
- Fill in the project details as usual.
- Scroll to the bottom of the project creation form.
- Check the box labeled Sandbox.
- Click Create project.

Results: sandbox project
- The project is flagged as a practice environment
- It is excluded from subscription project limits
- CxPlanner features work as usual for realistic testing
- You can create as many sandbox projects as needed
- Sandbox data is not included in platform backups
Troubleshooting: sandbox project
Problem | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
Cannot find the Sandbox checkbox | Form not scrolled to the bottom, or you cannot create projects | Scroll to the bottom of the create form, or ask a Company Admin to confirm your create-project permission |
Data from sandbox appears missing | Sandbox projects are not backed up | Recreate the test data in a new sandbox, or move real work to a standard project |
Cannot use sandbox for official reporting | Sandbox is excluded from official logs and live limits | Create or use a standard (non-sandbox) project for production reporting |
