Overview


How do I create and manage an asset project in CxPlanner?


Asset projects in CxPlanner allow you to structure, track, and manage all assets across a commissioning or construction project. This includes setting up the project, importing assets, defining asset types, creating checklists, and tracking issues.


Only users with the project role Manager or higher can create and manage asset projects.

How to - step by step


1. Create a New Project


  • Open CxPlanner.
  • Select an existing project or click Create Project and name it (e.g., Asset Quick).
  • Click Next to proceed.


2. Select Project Type


  • Choose Construction as the project type.
  • Select the default checklist types (can be changed later).


3. Define Asset Types


  • Review the suggested asset types.
  • Add new types now or at any time later.


4. Finalize Project Creation


  • Click Create Project to complete the setup.


5. Access the Asset Overview


  • Go to Assets → Overview to view all registered assets.


6. Manage Checklist Types


  • Review existing checklist types.
  • Add or modify checklist types as needed


7. Add Assets Manually


  • Click Add Asset.
  • Enter the required details: CCMS Tag and Asset Type.
  • Repeat for all assets.


8. Import Assets via CSV


  • Prepare an Excel CSV file with asset data.
  • Use the Import function to bulk upload assets.


9. Update Asset Attributes


  • Click on an asset to open its details.
  • Update fields and attributes as required.



10. Use the Global Test View


  • Access Global Test View for a comprehensive overview of all tests and related assets.


11. Approve Checklists


  • Review checklist items.
  • Approve and save the checklist.


12. Handle Checklist Issues


  • Review issues generated from checklists.
  • Update the issue status as required.


13. Track Issues Globally


  • Use the Global Issue List to monitor and manage all open issues.



Behavior and results


  • All assets are linked to checklists, test results, and issues.
  • The system automatically updates asset records when checklists are approved or issues are resolved.
  • You can filter, export, and report on asset data at any point.
