Customize optional fields in checklist templates

Overview: customize optional checklist fields

Optional field customization in Template Center lets you rename columns such as Scope, Method, and Acceptance criteria, and change the wording of PASS / FAIL / N/A, which is used when a project needs its own test terminology.

  • Your role must be Manager or higher.
  • You can find the menu at Template Center - open a checklist template - click a column header.
  • This changes field labels on all checklists created from that template.

Only users with the project role Manager or higher can edit checklist templates.

How to customize optional fields

  1. Open the checklist template you want to edit in Template Center.
  2. Click the column header row (for example Scope, Acceptance criteria, Method, Tools) to open the editor.
  3. Change the field or column name as needed.
  4. Enable any additional custom fields you need.
  5. Edit the PASS / FAIL / N/A wording if your project uses different terms.
  6. Save your changes.

Results: optional field customization

When importing or combining templates, the last imported template determines the naming of optional fields.

Example:

  • Template A renames Scope to Area
  • Template B renames Scope to System
  • If Template A is imported first and Template B second, fields named Scope become System
