Use inline tables in checklists for data collection

Overview: inline tables in checklists

Inline spreadsheets in Template Center let you embed a table inside a checklist to collect numbers, run simple formulas, and mark input cells, which is used when a test needs tabular data without a separate Excel file.

Advanced Excel features may not be supported.

  • Your role must be Manager or higher to configure inline tables.
  • You can find the menu at Template Center - open a checklist template - insert Inline Spreadsheet.
  • This changes checklist execution, stored project data, and PDF exports that include the table.

All users with access to Template Center can use this feature when configuring templates. Project role Manager or higher is required to configure.

How to use inline tables in checklists

  1. Open or create a checklist template in Template Center.
  2. Click Add new testblock and Insert a Spreadsheet block.
  3. Click a cell and type directly, or paste from Excel or Google Sheets.
  4. Format cells with colors or fonts if needed.
  5. To mark a cell as an input field, select the cell and use the toolbar button, or right-click and choose Input field.
  6. To add a formula, type it directly in a cell, for example =C2+B2+(G3-G5)*2.
