Full guide on how to set up projects with the asset-module
Overview: set up an Asset module project
The Asset module structures commissioning around assets and their checklists, with asset-specific attributes, files, and tasks in one place, which is used for standardized asset-centric projects. If you need a free-form workflow instead, use System & Test view. Checklist response data cannot move between those workflows after setup.
For Excel import details, see the Asset import articles.
- Your role must be Manager or higher to configure the module.
- You can find the menu in the Assets module of your project.
- This changes checklist types, asset types, asset records, and related task tracking.
The Asset module is especially useful on larger equipment lists. System & Test view is better when you need a free-form structure.
What CxPlanner does during Asset module setup
- Creates sidebar shortcuts for checklist types after they are linked to asset types
- Attaches the relevant checklists automatically when an asset is created
- Lets template updates be re-imported to asset types
- Keeps Asset ID unique per project
