Generate QR codes in bulk for assets
Overview: generate QR codes in bulk
Each asset has its own QR code. Bulk actions in Assets Overview let you download selected codes as individual PNG files or one PDF, which is used when you need to print asset tags or label equipment before site work.
Scanning still requires login and permission to view the asset.
- Your role can be any role that can open the assets.
- You can find the menu at Asset module - Assets Overview - Bulk actions.
- This does not change asset data. It creates downloadable QR files.
How to generate QR codes in bulk
- Go to Assets Overview.
- Select the assets. Hold Shift to multi-select a range.
- Click Bulk actions.
- Choose Generate QR codes (single PNG) or Generate QR codes (bulk PDF).

For large batches, use bulk PDF to avoid many separate downloads.
Troubleshooting: bulk QR codes
Problem | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
QR code does not open the asset | Scanner user lacks permission to view the asset | Ask a project Manager or Admin to grant the user access to that asset or raise their project role |
Bulk download does not start | Browser blocked the pop-up or download | Allow pop-ups and downloads for CxPlanner, then run Bulk actions again |
Large PNG batch is slow | Many separate files require repeated downloads | Use Generate QR codes (bulk PDF) instead |
