When you have opened the Template-center you should see a view like the one below.

You can navigate between the Public, Company-shared and Private templates in the different menus.

Create a new template

Hit the "Add Template"-button and specify a name for the template and optional also a category.

The example below creates a ventilation template:

You have multiple options to customize and edit your templates. The screenshot below shows some of the menus, and below the screenshot, the individual menus are explained.

1) Information

The information area let's you specify the name and category. These informations are used to identify the template.

2) Visibility

It's in this box you can specify who can see and edit the template. It will as standard always be set as Private, but you can just change that to be shared with your company.

3) Availability

Your template will as default be available on all the projects, you are working on. You can limit the availability to specific projects.

Import checklist from Excel to the template center

You easily import your existing checklist and test sheets into CxPlanner's structure.

Use the method below or contact our support-team, who will do the importing for you directly!

Click on the "Import from XLSX (Excel)" button:

Download the Excel template converter

In the popup box select the "Download template". This file will let you convert your existing spreadsheets into a format, which CxPlanner can import.

The screenshot below shows two items. It's only required to use the "Topic/Heading" and the "Test item" fields.

When you have inserted your data just copy the result from the green column (to the right) into CxPlanner.

Create a custom report

In our reporting module, you can create and customize reports. You can include information, graphs, and files, making it easy to create general documents like quality assurance and progress reports. You can also generate specific reports, such as the final Cx reports according to ASHRAE Guideline 0, ASHRAE Standard 202 and LEED certifications.

In reports, you have the flexibility to choose the content, which can range from lengthy documents to graphs displaying the number of open tasks.

Create Your First Report

You can create new reports in several ways. The easiest method is to "Add a new one" - you can use method (2) below.

Access the reporting module in the sidebar (if you can't see the button, you need to activate the module for the project).
Add an entirely new report.
Import a report from your company's Template Center.
Open an existing report.
Copy/clone an existing report.

Report Details: This includes the name and category of the report. It is not used in the final report.
Cover Page: Front page information - customize the title, subtitle, and info boxes.

Bulk import and updating of checklists with Excel

CxPlanner provides seamless bi-directional synchronization with Excel spreadsheets. This makes it very easy to input data into the platform upfront and update it during the project.

For working with import/export functionality you just need to use CxPlanner's spreadsheet template - more info on that in this article.

The spreadsheet template

To import you need to use CxPlanner's spreadsheet template. You can download it during the import process (see the picture above) or just click on the Menu-button and select download overview.

This spreadsheet includes many different options and utilities for you. Auto-import checklist or test items

This articles describes how you can specify an "Asset- or Equiptment"-type and attach multiple checklists to it.

When adding new items marked with the "Asset- or Equiptment"-type, the checklists will automatically be imported.

The two import-types

There are two ways to attach checklists:

Sub-checklists: This way the attached checklists will be added as sub-checklists and change the item to a "folder".
Checklist items: This way the checklists items will added.

Sub-checklist

When you create a new checklist, you can choose to auto add multiple sub-checklist to it.

E.g. you can create an asset called 'Ventilation' and attach multiple sub-checklists to it, for example Mechanical complete, Functional check and System integration test. This will automatically add 3 sub-checklists to this asset.

It will then get this structure:

Checklist items

Define an asset/equiptment type, and then attach one or more checklists to it.

When you create a new asset/equiptment of that type, the items from those checklists will be automatically imported.

The Template-center let's you either create your own checklists and test sheets, or use CxPlanner's default templates.

What can you do in the Template-center

There multiple ways to work with templates, but the main ways are:

Create personal templates you use own your own projects
Share templates with your company and streamline your workflows
Import your Excel XLSX checklist and test sheets into CxPlanner

Different kind of templates

You can create multiple different templates to use on your projects. It depends on your company-profile which templates you have access to.

The basic templates are:

Project templates (for full project setup)
Checklists and test sheets
Folder structures in the file-module
