Change the folder grouping hierarchy in the Global test view
The Global test view in the Asset module organizes checklists into nested folders based on columns you choose; by default, Asset type is always the top-level folder until someone changes it. This article covers changing that folder grouping and its order, for example nesting checklists under Work Package, then System, then Asset type instead.
Remove the default grouping
- Open the Asset module from the left sidebar and click Global test view.
- Right-click the column header at the top of the grid that shows the current grouping (by default, Asset type).
- Select Remove group. This clears the folder structure and leaves a blank, ungrouped workspace.

Build your own folder hierarchy
- Right-click the header of the column you want as the top-level folder and add it to the grouping. For example, right-click Work Package first if you want work packages as the outermost folder.
- Right-click the header of the next column you want nested underneath, for example System.
- Repeat for each additional level, right-clicking columns in the order you want them nested. A common hierarchy is Work Package -> System -> Asset type.
The order you right-click the columns in becomes the folder order, from outermost to innermost.

Save your new grouping
- Click Save to keep your new folder hierarchy on the Global test view.
- If you skip this step, the grouping reverts to the default Asset type hierarchy the next time the page is refreshed.

Make a custom grouping the default for everyone
- Save your new folder hierarchy as described above.
- Open the view menu and turn on Public and Default.
- Every project member who opens the Global test view now sees this folder hierarchy by default, though they can still reorder it for their own session.
