Customize line items with extra data [Advanced]
Overview: line item transforms in templates
Dynamic transforms let you enrich checklist and report templates with links, files, embedded videos, images, and formatted text, which is used when manuals, drawings, Loom or YouTube guides, or review documents need to sit next to a checklist item.
- Your role must be Manager or higher to create or edit template content. All project roles can view transforms in templates.
- You can find the menu at Template Center - open template - template text field.
- This changes checklists, reports, and shared templates that use those transforms.
How to add transforms to a template
- Go to Template Center in your project.
- Open the template you want to edit.
- Insert one of the transform formats from the table below into the template text field.
- Save your changes.
- Preview the template to confirm the transform works as expected.

Troubleshooting: line item transforms
Problem | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
Transform not showing in preview | Format typed incorrectly | Compare the syntax with the table and fix spacing, braces, and prefixes |
Video not embedded | Link is not Loom or YouTube | Replace it with a Loom or YouTube share link |
File link not working | File not uploaded or path incorrect | Confirm the file name and upload location in CxPlanner, then update the transform |
