Generate QR Codes in CxPlanner

Overview

How do I create QR codes in CxPlanner to access projects, checklists, or tasks more easily?

QR codes provide a fast way to access specific elements in CxPlanner without typing URLs or navigating folder structures. This is particularly useful on

construction sites where quick access to information is critical.

Only users with the project role Manager or higher can create QR codes.

When and why to use this

QR codes can be used in several scenarios to save time and reduce errors:

  • Provide contractors with direct access to add observations without logging in.
  • Link a checklist or task directly so it can be opened on-site with a phone or tablet.
  • Share project elements with external stakeholders through a scannable link.

Limitations to keep in mind:

  • Manual QR codes can allow access without a CxPlanner login. After creating this type, you must add the user to the project as a Contractor.
  • Quick QR codes are linked to existing project elements and require project access.

How to - step by step

There are two ways to create QR codes in CxPlanner: manual creation and quick creation.
