Line items are grayed out / not clickable
Overview
Why are checklist line items sometimes grayed out or not clickable in CxPlanner?
This behavior is linked to your project role and whether you are assigned to the checklist.
Example of grayed out line items:
When and why does this happen?
Grayed-out checklist line items usually occur when:
- Your project role does not have automatic access.
- You are not assigned to the checklist (personally, via company, or via group).
- A required action (such as adding a file or photo) was cancelled.
This ensures:
- Only authorized users can approve, fail, or complete tasks.
- Admins and Managers retain full access.
- Assignments can be flexibly managed at the user, company, or group level.
How to - step by step
To unlock grayed-out line items, you need to assign users to the checklist. This can be done in three ways:
- Go to the Checklists module.
- Select the checklist you want to update.
- Choose how to assign access:
- Personal assignment - assign an individual user.
- Company assignment - assign all users from a specific company.
- User group assignment - assign predefined user groups.
- Save your changes.
- Refresh the page to apply the new access rights.
