Navigate and use the global test view

Overview

How do I see all checklists across every asset type and commissioning level in one place in CxPlanner?

The Global test view in the Asset module allows you to view all project checklists in a single consolidated grid by navigating a hierarchical grouping of checklist types and asset types, which is used to monitor overall commissioning progress, find specific checklists quickly, and run AI-assisted follow-up emails to responsible parties with outstanding work.

This guide covers navigating, filtering, and using the menu actions in the Global test view.

Requires the project role Viewer or higher to view assets within the Global test view and the project role Manager or higher to use menu actions including AI emails and exports.

When and why to use this

Use the Global test view when you need a cross-cutting view of commissioning status that spans all asset types and all checklist levels at once. It is the primary view for commissioning managers reviewing overall project progress, and for identifying which responsible parties or companies have outstanding checklists.

  • When this is needed - a commissioning manager needs to see how many Level 2 checklists are completed across all asset types, or wants to send follow-up emails to every responsible engineer with open items before a client review
  • What the system does - displays one row per checklist per asset, grouped first by checklist type then by asset type; filters and exports apply to the current visible set
  • Limitations - the view shows checklists only, not individual checklist line items; for line-item detail, open the individual checklist from this view

How to

Open the Global test view

  1. Open the Asset module from the left sidebar.
  2. Click Global test view in the sidebar navigation. (The view loads with all checklist types collapsed by default on large projects.)

Open a checklist from the Global test view

  1. Locate the checklist row you want to open.
  2. Click the Open button in the Link column to open the checklist directly.

Filter the view within Global test view

  1. Use the filter bar at the top of the grid to narrow results.

Available filters:

  • Checklist type - show only one or more commissioning levels
  • Asset type - show only specific asset types
  • Status - filter by checklist status (Not started, In progress, Completed, Approved)
  • Responsible - show only checklists assigned to a specific person
  • Company - show only checklists assigned to a specific company

You can always add and remove columns via the View setting to fit your desired needs.

Export the Global test view to Excel or PDF

  1. Click Menu in the top right.
  2. Click Export.

The export includes all visible rows with all displayed columns, applying the current filters.

Send AI follow-up emails with CxAI

  1. Click AI logo in the top.
  2. Select your desired filters and criteria/duration and click Next.
  3. CxAI generates one follow-up email per responsible person listing their outstanding checklist items.
  4. Review each draft in the preview panel.
  5. Send or edit individual emails before sending.

Troubleshooting

Problem

Cause

Solution

A checklist does not appear in the view

The checklist type or asset type is excluded by an active filter

Clear all filters and check whether the checklist appears; then re-apply filters one at a time to identify which filter is excluding it

Menu button is missing or Export is greyed out

Project role is below Manager

Ask a project Admin to upgrade your role to Manager or higher

Test done date is blank but the checklist shows as Completed

The status was set manually without the engineer completing the done action

Ask the responsible engineer to mark the checklist complete through the standard completion flow

CxAI generates no emails

No responsible persons are assigned to checklists in the selected checklist types

Assign responsible persons to the relevant checklists, then re-run the wizard

Expand all is slow to load

The project has a very large number of checklists

Use filters to narrow the visible set before expanding, or expand one group at a time

Quick facts

  • Requires: Project role Viewer or higher to view; project role Manager or higher for Export and CxAI follow-up emails
  • Location: Asset module - Global test view (left sidebar)
  • Affects: Read-only view of checklist data; Export produces an Excel file; CxAI wizard sends emails to responsible persons
