Re-import a checklist template [System & Test view]

Overview: re-import checklist template in System & Test view


Re-importing a checklist template in System & Test view applies an updated company template to checklists already in use in a project, which is used when the company checklist library changes and active projects must stay aligned.


For re-import in the Asset module, use the Asset help pages.


  • Your role must be Manager or higher.
  • You can find the menu at System & Test view - Menu - Bulk edit many items - Import Template - Re-Import Template.
  • This updates all checklists linked to the re-imported template in the selected folder.


Only users with the project role Manager or higher can re-import checklist templates.


How to re-import a checklist template


  1. Go to the System & Test view module from the left sidebar.
  2. Click Menu.
  3. Select Bulk edit many items.
  4. Find the folder where you need to re-import the template. To select an entire folder including subfolders, hold Shift while clicking the folder.
  5. Click Import Template.
  6. Select Re-Import Template.

Results: template re-import


  • Only templates already used in the project can be re-imported
  • If you try a template that was never used, CxPlanner shows a notification and blocks the action
  • All checklists linked to the updated template align with the new version


Troubleshooting: re-import checklist template

Cannot see Re-Import Template

Project role is below Manager

Ask a project Manager or Admin to raise your role, or to run the re-import

Template not available for re-import

Template was never used in the selected project

Use Import Template first for that template, then re-import later when it is updated

Wrong folder re-imported

Incorrect folder selected in bulk edit

Repeat the steps and select the correct folder, using Shift-click for subfolders if needed
