Reset a line item / checklist item
Overview: reset a checklist line item
Resetting a line item clears Pass, Fail, or N/A so you can mark the checklist item again, which is used when a step was marked incorrectly.
To delete an unused unchecked item, see How do I delete a single line item on a checklist.
- Your role must be the checklist responsible user, or Manager or higher.
- You can find the control on the open line item - three gear icons - Delete.
- This clears the line item status so you can respond again.
How to reset a line item
- Click the checklist item whose status you want to change.
- Click the three small gear icons in the top-right corner.
- Click Delete. This resets the line item.
Results: reset a checklist line item
- The line item status is cleared
- You can mark Pass, Fail, or N/A again
- The checklist item remains on the checklist
Troubleshooting: reset a checklist line item
Problem | Cause | Solution |

Cannot reset a line item | Your role is below Manager and you are not responsible for the checklist | Ask a Manager or Admin to reset it, or get assigned as responsible |
Item still shows old status | Browser shows a cached view | Refresh the page |
