Add a new task / observation

Overview: add a new task

Creating a task in CxPlanner logs a punch list item, issue, or observation so it can be tracked to closeout, which is used during site inspections, commissioning, and design reviews.

For bulk import from a spreadsheet, see Import Tasks from Excel.

  • Your role must be Contractor or higher. Visibility and creation can also depend on your user group.
  • You can find the menu at Punch list items and Tasks - New Task.
  • This creates a task visible in table, Closeout Overview (Kanban), schedule, and floor plan views based on your permissions.

Only users with the project role Contractor or higher can create new tasks. User group settings can further limit visibility or creation.

How to create a new task

  1. Open the project and go to Punch list items and Tasks.
  2. Click New Task.
  3. Fill in the task details such as title, description, type, and due date.
  4. Click Save.
