Add comments to N/A Options in a checklist

Overview

How do I allow comments for N/A responses in a checklist?

In CxPlanner, you can enable comments for checklist items marked as N/A (Not Applicable). This allows users to provide clarification or context whenever an item doesn’t apply to their project situation.

All users with access to checklist templates can enable the option

When and why to use this

Use this feature when you want to ensure that N/A responses include context or explanations. This is especially important for maintaining traceability and clear documentation in commissioning checklists.

  • Use it when some checklist items may not apply but still require justification.
  • The system automatically prompts for a comment when N/A is selected.
  • Comments are included in the exported checklist PDF.
  • Requires the “Comment on NA” option to be enabled for each checklist item.
