Allocate a Template to a Project
Overview: allocate a template to a project
The Template Center availability settings let you duplicate and lock a checklist template to a specific project, which is used when a test script must stay project-specific and not be reused elsewhere without a new import.
For general template creation, see the Template Center create-and-manage guide.
- Your role must allow access to Template Center and the target project.
- You can find the menu at Template Center - create or open a template - Availability.
- This changes which project can import the template and whether it remains editable as a company-wide template.

- It appears as a project-specific template in the import list
- It cannot be edited as a global company template - only within the project
- External import access is available only if you enable that toggle

Troubleshooting: allocate a template
Problem | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
Template not showing in the project | Template not assigned, or visibility is too narrow | Reopen Availability, confirm the project is selected, and set visibility so the project team can see it |
Cannot edit the template | Template is locked as project-specific, or your role cannot edit it | Duplicate the template if you need a new editable copy, or ask a project Admin to confirm your edit rights |
External team cannot import the template | Allow import for external users is off | Enable Allow import for external users in the template availability settings |
