Configure asset checklist settings
Overview: Asset types and checklist settings
Checklist type settings in the Asset module control sequencing, recurrent inspections, work-hour targets, and handoff notifications across commissioning phases, which is used when tests (checklist scripts) must run in order and hand off cleanly between teams.

- Your role must be Manager or higher.
- You can find sequential progression at Types: Checklists, and the other settings at Types: Assets - pencil icon - Edit Checklist Type - Advanced.
- This changes checklist locking, recurrence, workload planning, and handoff emails.
How to configure asset checklist settings
Enforce sequential progression
- Open the Asset module.
- Go to Types: Checklists.
- Locate the checklist type to lock.
- Check Previous checklist-type must be checked before starting this one.

Off (default) | Checklist types can start independently |
On | This type stays locked until the preceding type is fully approved on the same asset |
Automate recurring inspections
- Open Types: Assets.
- Click the pencil icon on the checklist type row.
- Expand Advanced.
- Enter days in Recurrent Checklist every X days.
- Click Save Changes.

Assign expected work hours
- Open Types: Assets.
- Click the pencil icon on the checklist type row.
- Expand Advanced.
- Enter hours in Work Hours.
- Click Save Changes.
Notify the next team on approval
- Open Types: Assets.
- Click the pencil icon on the checklist type that should trigger the handoff.
- Expand Advanced.
- Check Notify user-group for next checklist when this one is fully approved.
- Click Save Changes.

Results: checklist setting behavior
- Sequential locking prevents out-of-order phase starts on an asset
- Recurrence creates the next inspection after approval
- Work hours appear in Checklist workload only when the field is filled
- Handoff notifications go to the next type's assigned user group
Troubleshooting: asset checklist settings
Problem | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
Cannot start the next checklist type | Previous must be checked is on and the preceding type is not fully approved | Finish and fully approve the preceding checklist on that asset, or turn the lock off on the blocked type |
New checklist is not created after sign-off | Recurrent days is 0 or blank | Open Types: Assets - pencil icon - Advanced and enter a positive number of days |
Work hours missing in Checklist workload | Work Hours field is blank | Enter expected hours in Advanced and save |
Next team is not notified | Notification is off, or no user group is assigned to the next type | Enable the checkbox and assign a user group to the next checklist type |
Cannot find Advanced | Section is collapsed | Expand Advanced in the Edit Checklist Type modal |
