How to create a QR-code

QR codes are an efficient way to provide quick access to specific projects, documents, or tasks in CxPlanner. Instead of manually navigating through folders, users can simply scan a QR code with their phone or tablet and be directed straight to the relevant page. This is especially useful on construction sites, where quick access to information is needed without typing long URLs or navigating complex folder structures.

To create a QR code, you must have the role of "Manager" or higher.

How to create a QR-code

In CxPlanner, there are two different ways to create QR codes.

The first method is manual creation, where you enter information yourself and generate a QR code. The manual QR code allows users without a CxPlanner login to add observations to a project.

After creating this type of QR code, make sure to add the user to the project as a contractor.

The second method is quick creation, where you can easily generate a QR code for a specific element - typically a checklist - without manually entering any information. This makes it fast and efficient to share access to relevant pages.

Manual Creation:

If you want full control over the content of your QR code, you can create it manually.

Go to Settings.
Navigate to the QR Codes tab.
Click Add New.
Enter what the QR code should link to and where it will be used.
Confirm the creation – the QR code is now generated and can be saved or shared.

Step 1 & 2 - Access the QR Module

Step 3 - Add New

Step 4 & 5 - Create Your QR Code

Quick Creation:

If you quickly want to generate a QR code for a checklist or another element, you can use the right-click function.

Find the element you want to create a QR code for and right-click on it.
Select "Create QR Code" from the menu.
Enter a description of the QR code and choose its use.
Confirm the creation – the QR code is now generated and can be saved or shared.

Step 1 & 2 - Create the QR Code

Step 3 & 4 - Use the QR Code
