Upload a New Version of a File

Overview

How do I upload a new version of a file?

You can update existing files by uploading a new version, ensuring that previous versions are still accessible for reference.

Only users that's responsible for the given folder or with the project role of Manager or higher can upload new file versions.

When and why to use this

Updating a file version is useful when you need to replace outdated content while keeping a record of previous versions.

  • When you have made changes or corrections to a document
  • When you need to maintain a version history for audit or reference
  • The system keeps all older versions for easy retrieval
  • Only one file name is shown in the main list - older versions are stored in the file’s version history
