Use the Closeout Overview (Kanban) to manage tasks and punchlist items

Overview: closeout overview Kanban

The Closeout Overview shows tasks and punch list items as cards in Open, Active, and Closed columns, with optional swimlanes, which is used during closeout and commissioning follow-up.

For the list view, use Punch list items and Tasks.

Your role must be Consultant or higher to move tasks, and Manager or higher to create tasks from this view.
You can find the menu at left sidebar - Task management - Closeout overview.
This changes task status immediately across the board, list view, and status-based reports.

Only users with project role Manager or higher can create tasks from this view. Users with role Consultant or higher can move tasks between columns.

How to open the Closeout Overview

Open your project in CxPlanner.
Click Closeout overview in the left sidebar under Task management.
Review the columns: Open for not started, Active for in progress, and Closed for completed or resolved.
Review swimlane rows. Cards are grouped horizontally by category or another configured field.

How to configure swimlane grouping

Click the gear icon in the top-right corner of the board.
Click Create swimlane overview.
In Group by, select a field.

Built-in fields:

Can be closed status
Assigned company
Assigned to
Asset type
Checklist type

Custom fields:

Priority
Paragraph

The board reloads with one swimlane per group value. Cards without a value appear in a Default swimlane.

How to filter the board

Click the gear icon and use Filter by to filter cards by user.
Use Search in the toolbar to find tasks by keyword.

How to move a task between columns

Locate the task card you want to move.
Drag the card to Open, Active, or Closed, or open the card and change the Status field.

The status updates immediately for all project members.

Status changes sync to the punch list view and to reports that include task status.

Troubleshooting: closeout overview Kanban

Problem	Cause	Solution
Drag-and-drop does not work	Project role is below Consultant	Ask a project Admin to raise your role, or change Status inside the task card
New task button missing or inactive	Project role is below Manager	Ask a project Admin to raise your role to Manager
Board shows more tasks than expected	No filters applied	Use gear icon - Filter by, or Search, to narrow the board
Task card missing after creation	Active filter hides the new task	Clear filters or Search to confirm the task was saved
