Check grammar and spelling on iPhone
CxPlanner does not have a built-in grammar or spell-check feature ("grammar control") for text fields such as comment fields, task descriptions, or checklist notes. This guide covers the practical workarounds for catching typos and grammar issues while typing in CxPlanner on iPhone, using tools outside CxPlanner itself.
This guide takes you through how to use Apple's Writing Tools, the built-in spell-check, dictation, and the Grammarly Keyboard, so you can catch typos and grammar issues while typing in CxPlanner.
Use Apple's Writing Tools, if your iPhone supports it
On iPhone 15 Pro or newer, running iOS 18.1 or later, with a supported language and region, Apple's Writing Tools (part of Apple Intelligence) offers proofreading and rewrite suggestions system-wide in standard text fields, including CxPlanner's, with nothing extra to install.
- Type text into a CxPlanner field, such as a task comment.
- Select the text.
- Tap Writing Tools in the selection menu.
- Choose Proofread or another suggestion.
Writing Tools only appears on supported hardware, iOS version, and language or region combinations. If it does not appear, your iPhone or region does not support it yet - use Grammarly Keyboard or the built-in spell-check instead.
Turn on the built-in spell-check
iPhone checks spelling by default in any text field, including CxPlanner's, and underlines misspelled words in red.
- Confirm this is on at Settings > General > Keyboard > Check Spelling.
- Tap an underlined word in a CxPlanner text field to see suggested corrections.
This catches spelling only, not grammar. Use Grammarly Keyboard or Writing Tools above for grammar checking.
Dictate instead of typing
Dictating a comment reduces typing errors, since you are speaking instead of typing.
Always review the dictated text before sending, since speech-to-text can misinterpret words.
Add the Grammarly Keyboard
Grammarly Keyboard replaces your iPhone's keyboard with one that checks grammar and spelling as you type, in any app, including CxPlanner.
- Download the Grammarly - AI Writing Assistant app from the App Store.
- Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards > Add New Keyboard.
- Select Grammarly.
- Open CxPlanner and tap into a text field, such as a task comment.
- Tap the globe icon on the keyboard to switch to Grammarly.
- Type as normal. Grammarly underlines issues and shows suggested fixes above the keyboard.
