Enable native camera on Microsoft Surface laptop/tablet
Overview: camera button on Microsoft Surface
On hybrid devices such as Microsoft Surface, CxPlanner may detect the device as a laptop and hide the native camera button. Enabling the Surface camera option in Account Settings shows the button so you can take photos in CxPlanner.
Any company role User or higher can enable this on their own account.
- You can find the menu at profile icon - Account Settings - Show camera button on Surface devices.
- This changes only your personal interface. It is not project-wide.
How to enable the camera button
- Click your profile icon in the top-right corner.
- Select Account Settings.
- Locate Show camera button on Surface devices.
- Switch the option on.
- Confirm the camera button appears in the interface.

Results: camera button visible
- You can take photos directly from the Surface inside CxPlanner
- The button behaves like the tablet camera control
