Enable high resolution images in exports
Overview
How do I improve image quality in exported reports from CxPlanner?
The high resolution image setting in Company Profile allows you to export reports with full-quality images by disabling automatic image compression, which is used when photo documentation quality is critical for handover reports, client deliverables, or formal QA documentation.
This guide covers enabling the high resolution export setting at company level - for general information about adding images to checklists or tasks, see the relevant module guides. Requires company role Admin.
When and why to use this
By default, CxPlanner does not compress uploaded images unless they are exceptionally large. However, some export workflows may still produce images at reduced resolution. Enabling this setting ensures exported reports use the highest available image quality.
- When this is needed - a client or commissioning team reports that photos in exported PDF reports appear blurry or low quality
- What the system does - exports use the full-resolution version of each uploaded image rather than a compressed variant
- Limitations - higher storage consumption and potentially slower platform performance for all users in the company
How to
- Click your profile icon in the top right corner of CxPlanner.
- Select Company Profile from the dropdown menu.
- Navigate to Report Settings.
- Enable the toggle Use high resolution images (High storage and slow).
- Save your changes.

Behavior and results
When the setting is enabled, all exported reports across the company account will use the highest available resolution for images. This applies to all export types - PDF reports, Excel exports, and direct image exports.
Permission matrix
Company role | Can enable this setting |
|---|---|
Admin | Yes |
Manager | No |
User | No |
Storage and performance impact
Setting | Image quality | Storage use | Export speed |
|---|---|---|---|
Off (default) | Standard | Normal | Normal |
On | Maximum | Increased | Slower |
The performance impact affects all users in the company, not only the admin who enabled the setting. |
Troubleshooting
Problem | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
Setting is not visible | User does not have company Admin role | Ask your company Admin to enable the setting or to grant Admin access |
Images still appear low quality after enabling | Export cache may not have refreshed | Re-export the report after enabling the setting |
Platform feels slower after enabling | High resolution processing increases server load | This is expected behavior - disable the setting if performance impact is unacceptable |
