Understanding Company Roles in CxPlanner
Company roles
Company roles in CxPlanner control what a user can do across the entire platform - not just in individual projects. They determine access to features like creating new projects, editing company settings, and managing other users.
Please note: Project roles are not the same as company roles.
- Project roles define your permissions within a specific project, such as creating tasks, replying to issues, or accessing project settings. (you can read more about project roles here)
- Company roles, on the other hand, define what you can do across the entire system, such as creating new projects or editing company-wide settings.
Explanation of the different Company Roles
There are three different roles for company profiles:
Role | Can create new projects | Can manage company users | Can view company agreement | Can create templates |
---|---|---|---|---|
Administrator | ✅ Yes | ✅ Yes | ✅ Yes | ✅ Yes |
Moderator | ✅ Yes | ✅ Yes | ❌ No | ✅ Yes |
User | ❌ No | ❌ No | ❌ No | ✅ Yes |
Troubleshooting
Problem | Cause | Solution |
---|---|---|
User can't create a new project | Their company role is only "User" | Change their role to Moderator/Admin |
Can't manage another user’s role | Not an Administrator | Only Admins can assign company roles |
Project role changes not working | Confusing company vs project roles | Ensure you're editing the correct role type |
