Line items are grayed out / not clickable
Overview: grayed-out checklist line items
Grayed-out line items mean your project role needs an assignment before you can act on the checklist, which is used to keep Pass, Fail, and task actions limited to authorized users.
For assigning responsibility in bulk, see Assign responsibility to checklists and tasks.
- Your role of Admin or Manager can always interact with line items. Contractor, Designer, and Consultant must be assigned first.
- You can find assignment controls on the open checklist in the Checklists module, including System & Test view, Asset module, QA/QC, or Site inspections.
- This changes who can interact with checklist line items. It does not change checklist content.

How to unlock grayed-out line items

- Open the checklist you want to update.
- Assign access in one of these ways: personal assignment, company assignment, or user group assignment.
